Live for Kids Cycle Classic 2011
In 2011 our Cycle Classic will be from the Gold Coast to Newcastle, over 6 days, and approximately 800km. Our past Cycle Classics, from the Gold Coast in 2009, and Coffs Harbour in 2010, have been such a success, we have this year expanded our format to accomodate 30 riders.

The Cycle Classic is organised by Live for Kids to raise funds for the John Hunter Children's Hospital, and other Newcastle based childrens charities. Each year we work with our charity partners to identify specific projects to support, including purchase of specific medical equipment which is critical to the health of our children.
Live for Kids is taking up the challenge to raise the profile of our charity partners, and engage children and their parents in promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.

Our exact route has not been determined, as we are working with our sponsors, the relevant authorities and using local information to determine the safestand best route.
The ride is fully supported by a crew who will drive with the riders, ensuring safety and support, and ensuring the riders recover each day ready to ride again. We ride as a single group, to ensure we minimise our footprint on the road, and use multiple support cars ahead and behind the group, to ensure maximum safety.
As part of the ride we will be undertaking various marketing activities in support of our sponsors.
Many schools and community groups have been engaged to participate and to assist in the running of the event.
